Cyprus Wedding PhotographersYour wedding day, surely a day to share with all your friends and family... even if you haven’t seen some of them since you were 7? What sort of selfish person jets off to warmer climbs for their wedding day? Well people like me, I got married in Paphos, Cyprus over ten years ago (notice the vagueness of that statement - I dare not be too precise in case Mrs Beck has to correct me). Seriously, planning a wedding can be a stressful affair with lots of things to consider. In this green and pleasant land, one of the main concerns, no matter what time of year you book your wedding is the glorious British weather. So if you dream of saying I do in the warmth of the sun's rays, next to the deep blue warm waters of your tropical resort then a destination wedding could be the perfect option. I consider myself a photographer with boundaries and will cover weddings anywhere from Chester Le Street to the Caribbean. I love destination weddings and my favourite locations are in Malta, Cyprus and the TRNC. There are lots of benefits to destination weddings and for us when we got married one of the most important aspects was that of the guest list. We desperately wanted to share our day only with the close family and friends who are special to us, we had no interest in keep distant relatives happy and playing the whole family politics game. When you get married abroad the one thing you can be sure of is that every guest that turns up really thinks a lot of you – they travelled half way around the world to share the most important day in your life with you. Cyprus is known as the island of love and is the legendary birthplace of Aphrodite. Of all the locations around the world that I work Cyprus is without doubt my favourite. Cyprus is my second home and I know it better than any other destination in the world. The variety available for your wedding is vast from the greenery and mountains of the North to the luxury of resorts like Aphrodite Hills to the cheap and cheerful hotels of Ayia Napa. Cyprus is a photographers paradise, all that's missing is you! Cyprus Wedding Photographers & The Legalities of getting married in Cyprus Rest assured that it is not a problem for UK citizens to marry in Cyprus and that the marriage will be perfectly legal in the UK. However, according to Cyprus law, before the marriage can proceed you must meet the following legal requirements: • Be resident for a minimum of three working days (excluding weekends, public holidays and the day of arrival) before the wedding day. It is not now compulsory to have to stay a minimum of two weeks but for your enjoyment, it is highly recomended. • Have valid ten-year passports not due to expire within six months, plus photocopies of all pages relating to the personal information contained therein. • Each have your own Single Status Statutory Declaration confirming that you are free to get married. These must include your name, address, nationality, religion, passport number and occupation; state whether single, divorced or widowed; that you intend to marry in Cyprus; and be signed and stamped by a UK solicitor, stating ‘solicitor’ on the document. Scottish nationals should obtain a Certificate of No Impediment from the local registry office in place of the Declaration. • Have a copy of the decree absolute if divorced and, if Catholic, a copy of the marriage enulment. • Have a copy of the death certificate if widowed. • Proof of parental consent if under 18, stamped and signed by a solicitor. • Proof of name change by Deed Poll, stamped and signed by a solicitor. • Birth certificates. • Adoption certificates if adopted. To ensure the success of every wedding and the happiness of every bride and groom, your wedding planner will require photocopies of all relevant documents at least six weeks before your arrival.
