2016 Cyprus Weddings – we are off an running and what a crazy fun start to the season… thank you Kirsty and Warren you were both amazing.
2016 Cyprus Weddings
So Kirsty and Warren got married in Protaras today and they brought with them 64 crazy guests from Glasgow and Essex. I love when the Scots come to Cyprus because are guaranteed two things. They are going to have an amazing time… and they are going to get burnt 🙂
The weather in April can sometimes be a bit hit and miss in Cyprus but I wasn’t too worried, in nine years of shooting wedding on this beautiful island I have never once had a wedding spoiled by the weather. The weather was actually perfect today, around 23 degrees and with some lovely soft cloud that took the harshness out of the sun.
The civil service was held at the Pernera Blue Waters venue, overlooking the deep blue med. The Glasgow side of the family even flew a piper over all the way from Scotland to pipe the happy couple down the aisle – amazing!
Tonight wedding guest Lyndsey sang the first dance song live with the in house band accompanying her (she nailed it by the way) and then a team of traditional Cypriot dancers turned up to really had some local style to the party.
It’s 11.30pm and I have been shooting with Kirsty and Warren since noon today – I have left them to continue the party without the blackmailing lens of the photographer being around. I will be aching tomorrow (because I am getting far too old for all this running around in the sun) but I just wanted to say thank you to my first Bride & Groom for my 2016 Cyprus Weddings – and all the wonderful guests who made me feel so welcome and a part of the celebrations.
To all my other brides and grooms… the gauntlet has been thrown down – can you party harder that Kirsty & Warren?
See you all soon
