Cyprus Wedding Photos By Craig BeckIt's easy to understand why more and more couples are deciding to tie the knot and have their wedding in Cyprus. Cyprus – Europe’s eastern edge embodies the true essence of the Mediterranean. Sleepy villages, classical amphitheatres and temples, haunting monasteries that cling to craggy cliff tops and Byzantine packed with precious icons and frescoes lure visitors thirsty for romance, history and adventure. Known in ancient times as The Green Island, Cyprus remains the land of the grape and the olive with a reputation for sharply accented oil and smooth, refined wines; it is also a botanist's dream, with the spring air thick with the scent of lemon blossom, and the ground – from the lush hills of the Akamas Peninsula to the remote cliffs of the Troodos Mountains – carpeted with wild flowers and herbs. Paphos (what a location for your photos)- In the azure sea a short way off the coast of Paphos, a majestic rock marks the mythical birthplace of Aphrodite. Since Hellenic times, the faithful of all creeds have flocked to worship at this beautiful bay, establishing a fine tradition of mosaic-making. Today, Paphos's open air museum of Byzantine churches and Roman ruins is interspersed with al fresco restaurants and café bars. On the western edge of town – overlooking Paphos Castle and its picturesque medieval harbour – lies Almyra, a cutting-edge beach hotel set within eight acres and directly next door, its sister hotel, Annabelle: a charming oasis set within six acres of lush tropical gardens. Polis - Towards the north-westerly tip of Cyprus, the island’s rolling hills and ancient vineyards give way to the wild, dramatic beauty of the Akamas Peninsula. Named after the mythical son of Theseus, Akamas is one of the most beautiful areas of Cyprus; with its fresh mountain springs and seasonal swathes of wild orchids and cyclamen, it comes as no surprise to learn that it was here that Aphrodite first set eyes on Adonis. Anassa occupies a secluded spot on the edge of the proposed Akamas Nature Reserve, along a private stretch of coast in between the little town of Polis and the charming fishing village of Latchi. Paphos holidays are popular with British families and feature one of the nicest and most varied resorts in Cyprus. Paphos holidays combine a modern beach resort with an interesting older inland town, in the beautiful south-west of Cyprus, just 9 miles north of Paphos airport. Paphos holidays offer two distinct centres which are slowly beginning to merge. Kato Pafos is the seafront area set around a small picturesque harbour, while Paphos Town is an atmospheric hill town. Holidays in Paphos tend to focus on the seafront and the romantic cafes and tavernas in the colourful little fishing harbour. Part of the charm of holidays in Paphos is strolling from the harbour scene to upper Paphos with its narrow hilly lanes and quality craft shops. Paphos holidays offer quite a lively little selection of nightlife with plenty of live music in bars, pubs, clubs and discos near the seafront. Children on holiday in Paphos will enjoy the Aquarium and Paphos Water Park. Paphos holidays are ideally placed for exploring a particularly beautiful region of Cyprus with a gorgeous coastline. There are four beaches in Paphos and plenty of little rocky coves to explore. Many visitors combine Paphos beaches with Plaz beach and the popular beach of Coral Bay. Photos they say are worth a thousand words and no more so on your wedding day. Craig Beck covers the whole island and offers happy couples stunning and unique Cyprus wedding photos to take home and enjoy for a lifetime. Wedding Photos : Related Sites |
